Altaylı: „Kızılay is officially sunk by an unqualified, unreliable person“

by time news

Habertürk writer Fatih Altaylı wrote an article drawing attention to the Red Crescent’s call for blood donations to volunteers.

Altaylı reacted to Kerem Kınık, the President of the Red Crescent, who was revealed to be selling tents to earthquake victims, and said, “Distrust in the person has turned into distrust of the institution and leads the institution to extinction.”

The relevant part of Altaylı’s article is as follows:

“It finally happened. The Red Crescent was left without blood. On sight, even.

Even before the scandal of selling tents to earthquake survivors broke out, before the man at the head of it was understood what it cost, Murat Bardakçı said on the television screen, ‘I don’t even give blood to help this Red Crescent’.

Moreover, Bardakçı is not an opponent, on the contrary, he said this as a member of the Presidential Culture and Art Policy Board, a name close to Beştepe and Beştepe people.

So much so that it was up to me to defend the Red Crescent that day, ‘Don’t do it, Murat, we have no other institution to organize blood collection. I had to say, ‘We need to continue donating blood to Kızılay.

Turkey’s ancestral heirloom, the institution whose foundations were laid by Abdülhamid Han, whom they loved very much, is being ruined by an unqualified person who was brought to his head and found to be unreliable by the society.

And the person appointed to that office is so disastrous that he does not even think of resigning, asking for forgiveness, in a new term, despite this situation.

And what is at least as serious as this, our mighty and mighty government does not even think of dismissing this person or asking for his resignation. The mentality of ‘heads are not given because someone asked for them’ continues, and the institution is risked to go bankrupt just because it would be a show of weakness to dismiss an unsuccessful person with a social reaction.
