“SCREENSHOT” LETTER N°56 – Update on advances in artificial intelligence, and the debates it arouses.

Should research and deployment in artificial intelligence be accelerated, slowed down or curbed urgently? The debate agitates the community of AI researchers, regulators and an ever-growing number of commentators. Two camps face each other: those for whom it is a technology among others, which should be learned to handle. And those who see theprofound risks it poses for society and humanity(Elon Musk…). The French, as we are going to see, fall for a large majority into this last category.
To better follow the evolutions of artificial intelligence, this letter is once again entirely dedicated to what I call “The Awakening of the Machines”. In order to make it easier to read, it is divided into four parts: news, anticipations, regulations and debates.
