A couple from the north of the country had an excellent and calm relationship throughout their 24 years of marriage, they earned respectable sums together, she from the field of education and he from the legal system and on the occasion of the 25th wedding anniversary – a year before the due date – the husband began to embroider the big surprise as a gift for his wife.
Part of the surprise required the husband to withdraw funds alternately from his and his wife’s savings. Each time sums of several thousand which he deposited in a special account he opened under the name “The Money Wedding”. The ultimate goal was to buy his wife a new car and bring it to her in an impressive ceremony to park under their house in the presence of their relatives and friends.

Eight months passed, and the woman noticed the many withdrawals. She was sure that the husband is strengthened by his love with whom he spends time and indulges in expensive gifts. The husband told lawyers Sharin and Gadli Solan: “For almost a year, I was able to transfer 35,000 NIS from our joint account to the special account I opened, and I transferred the cash withdrawals of 3,500 NIS each time directly to the car importer.” According to him, his goal was to pay the full amount for The new car, exactly until a week before the wedding day. In order to complete the surprise, he recruited his brother to take out the car together and he would park it in his private parking lot. “Everything was transparent and with precise planning in which our eldest son was also involved.”
Despite all this, the woman who discovered the withdrawals of the funds, was sure that the husband was transferring the funds to another woman and surprised her with a warning letter before divorce. Attorney Solan made it clear to the husband that he must take out all the bank statements and payment confirmations to the car dealership, from which he purchased the car in order to convince his wife of his blessed initiative. According to him he did so but she claims that everything is staged. She doesn’t accept the explanations.”

The woman justified the divorce request: “We have been married for 24 years and he knows that surprises are not my favorite thing. I don’t buy that he wanted to purchase a car for me. For years he refuses to buy a second car and kills me every time I ask for the family car.” On the recommendation of attorney Solan, who argued that the case is solvable and there is no need to reach a divorce, unless there is another reason behind the woman’s insistence. The couple were sent, as is customary in cases of this type, to resolve a conflict that will only be determined at the end if divorce proceedings and mutual claims are opened here.
