The police continue to increase preparations for the holidays and during the last ten days of Ramadan, which began yesterday (Monday), during which police forces, MGB soldiers and soldiers of special units are deployed overtly and covertly throughout the country, in crowded areas and mixed cities with the aim of thwarting and preventing as much as possible unusual events or Disorders that will lead to escalation.
The police understand that the alert threshold for terrorist attacks is increasing and with it the understanding that despite the deployment of forces and the increased presence, in the end, it will be impossible to thwart attempts or intentions for individual terrorist attacks, as happened in recent days in Hawara and Hamra.
“This is the maximum possible in terms of the capabilities of the police, there is no more where to bring troops. The whole issue of IDF reinforcements is the IDF’s responsibility,” a senior police officer tells us.
