Gokulam Kerala FC lost in the first match of Super Cup hosted by Kerala. Gokulam defeated Kerala by five goals to one against Indian Super League winners ATK Mohun Bagan this season. Liston Colaco scored a brace for Mohun Bagan. Also, Hugo Baumus and Manveer Singh. Kian Nasiri also scored for Mohun Bagan. Sergio Iglesias scored Gokulam Kerala’s consolation goal. Listen Colaco gave ATK Mohun Bagan the lead in the 6th minute of the match. Hugo Baumas delivered the ball to Liston with his trademark shot. In the 27th minute, Liston doubled the Kolkata club’s lead with a brilliant long ranger from outside the box. Kian Nasiri’s pass was headed home by Hugo Baumas with seconds remaining in the first half. The score is 3-0. In the second half, the Gokulam line was completely broken when Manveer scored Mohun Bagan’s fourth goal in the 63rd minute. However, Gokulam’s consolation goal was scored by Sergio Iglesias in the darkness of the unbroken fight. Kian Nasiri scored Mohun Bagan’s fifth goal with minutes to go to add to the scoresheet.
Gokulam Kerala’s next match is against FC Goa. The match is on April 14th at 5 pm. Victory in the next two matches is crucial if Gokulam Kerala wants to enter the final round as the group winners. Also, Mohun Bagan should face defeat in the next matches.
