Foreign Minister Ebrard signs an agreement in Jalisco to promote the sale of tequila in the world

Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard witnessed today, in Jalisco, the signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), with the aim of strengthening and promoting tequila internationally.

The objective of the agreement is for the SRE, through its network of embassies and consulates, to help open new markets for Mexico’s flagship drink.

“Where the presence of tequila is growing the most is in Eurasia; and Mexico this year is going to open its embassy in Kazakhstan and in others,” said the foreign minister at the event held at the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce.

“That will allow us to be present in that region, we already have regulatory authorization so that tequila can access that region of the world,” he said.

The signing was attended by the president of the CRT, Miguel Ángel Domínguez Morales, and the director of the CRT, Ramón González Figueroa.

As part of his work tour in Jalisco, the foreign minister held a meeting with the rector of the University of Guadalajara, Ricardo Villanueva, and the university community to discuss the perspectives of Mexico’s foreign policy.

Before the Federation of Colleges of Economists of the Mexican Republic AC and the general public, he presented his book “El Camino de México”.
