Chennai: The Chennai High Court has granted permission to the AIADMK to file an appeal against the order that the acquisition of the Boise Estate Veda Center, where the late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa lived, was invalid.
After the demise of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, the AIADMK and the government turned the Boise Estate Veda Center where she lived in Chennai into a memorial house. .
Judge Seshasai, who heard the case, quashed the government’s acquisition and ordered the Chennai Collector to hand over the keys of the Vedha station to the two.
Subsequently, a petition was filed by CV Shanmugam, Secretary, Villupuram District AIADMK and a member of the Jayalalithaa Memorial Trust: a law was enacted to make arrangements for the conversion, maintenance and management of the Vedha Center into a memorial house.
The Government of Tamil Nadu has an obligation to appeal as this Act was passed in the last Assembly.But since the Government of Tamil Nadu is not interested in appealing, I file; It must be allowed. Thus stated in the petition.
The petition came up for hearing in a bench comprising Justices Paresh Upadhyay and Sathikumar. The keys to the Veda station were handed over to the heirs.
