Luka Doncicthe stellar base of Dallas Mavericksburst in to dispel speculation that calls into question his long-term future in the Texan franchise, where he insists that he is happy.

One of the latest information that came out was that the Slovenian could change teams with a view to the next campaign, especially after the failure of being left out of the postseason in this 2022/23 season with a record of 38 wins and 44 losses.

Despite the exchange for Kyrie Irving, who came to the Mavs in March to -supposedly- boost the squad, those led by Jason Kidd added more frustrations than joys and this left them in 11th place. step of the Western Conference, out of any fight.

The 24-year-old former Real Madrid publicly acknowledged his disappointment after the negative results, but this does not mean that his stay in Dallas has come to an end. In fact, he signed a contract extension for 207 million dollars in August 2021, in a bond that keeps him until 2027.

Dallas owner Mark Cuban said the Mavs had to “earn” Doncic’s loyalty so he would spend his entire career with them. For his part, the man born in Ljubljana conveyed calm with his statements, after the 138-117 defeat at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs in game No. 82 of his season.

“I’m happy here, so there’s nothing to worry about,” Doncic told reporters. “I saw the information. I don’t know who, someone said that I was going to request an exchange. It was funny because I didn’t know it was true. I didn’t say it,” he whitened before the rumours.

Looking ahead, the Slovenian said he expects changes in the offseason to bolster the Mavs’ lineup, though he declined to comment on specific player goals. He also endorsed Irving as his teammate even though his arrival from the Nets hasn’t been collectively productive.

“Something has to change for sure. I mean, last year we went to the Western Conference finals. We had fun. I always talk about the chemistry we had. It was great. But something has to change for sure,” Doncic said.

And about Irving, the talented point guard added: “I think he’s a great fit. Obviously people will say no to the results we’re having, but like I said, chemistry and relationships take time. I wish he could stay here.”
