The Pentagon: Russia and an Arab country planned to act against the CIA and MI5

by time news

Russia and the United Arab Emirates worked to deepen their intelligence relations and act against American and British intelligence, as revealed today (Tuesday) in another document leaked from the Pentagon. According to the report, American intelligence officials “caught” Russian intelligence officers, by “bragging” about the fact that Moscow had persuaded the Emirates to act against the CIA and MI5. The title of the document is – “Russia/United Arab Emirates: Deepening Intelligence Relations”.

In the meantime, the document refers at length to Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) and states that “Service officials claimed that the United Arab Emirates agreed to work jointly against the intelligence agencies of the United States and Great Britain, using signals.” Russian intelligence, an opportunity to strengthen the ever-growing ties between it and Moscow, and to diversify the intelligence partnerships against the background of the fear of the US disengagement from the region.”

One of the assistants to the US Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen, last month marked the United Arab Emirates as a “target country”. According to her, certain businesses operating in the country help Russia evade international sanctions, and thus Moscow even manages to get its hands on components that it uses on the battlefield in Ukraine. Intelligence sources have even pointed out in recent years about possible connections between the United Arab Emirates and the armed private militia “Wagner Force”. For example, the CIA estimated that the United Arab Emirates might provide some funding to this group, which is managed by Yevgeny Prigozhin.

American experts have noted that Russia and the United Arab Emirates share similar views on several key conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa, and since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, an influx of Russians to the country has begun. Last October, federal prosecutors in New York announced that two Russian men, residents of the Emirates, are accused of stealing technology from an American company, smuggling millions of barrels of oil and laundering tens of millions of dollars for oligarchs who have ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Also, the United Arab Emirates remains one of the few countries that still operates direct flights to Moscow, even at the height of the war in Ukraine. Alongside this, the country can see an influx of Russian businessmen and Russian money flowing in. In the meantime, the United Arab Emirates denied the claims, and said that “We refute the claim regarding the agreement to deepen cooperation with the security services of other countries. The United Arab Emirates has deep and unique relations with all countries, which reflect principles of openness, partnership and work to serve the common interests to achieve Peace and security throughout the world.”

Earlier, another leaked document from the Pentagon revealed that Egyptian President al-Sisi planned to produce 40,000 rockets for Russia and ordered officials to keep the production and delivery secret “to avoid problems with the West.” According to the report, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, one of America’s closest allies in the Middle East and a major recipient of American aid, recently ordered subordinates to produce up to 40,000 rockets to be secretly sent to Russia, according to a leaked American intelligence document.
