Japan, 6.8 magnitude earthquake on the north-east coast

A earthquake of magnitude 6.8 on the Richter scale has been reported on the northeastern coast of Japan. There was no damage and no tsunami warning was issued. The epicenter was located off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture about 60 kilometers deep. The quake was also felt in the prefectures of Iwate and Fukushima and in Tokyo.
