Tricolor receives Ituano for the Copa do Brasil

by time news

After debuting with victory in the 2023 CONMEBOL Sul-Americana, by defeating Tigre by 2-0, in Argentina, Tricolor will start the dispute in another competition: this time, in the Copa do Brasil.

This Tuesday (11), at 21:30, in Morumbi, São Paulo will receive Ituano in the first leg of the third round of the national competition.

This phase of the tournament will feature entries from CONMEBOL Libertadores participants and the current champions of the Copa do Nordeste, Copa Verde and Série B of the Brazilian Championship. Tricolor, even without joining this year’s Libertadores, took one of the vacancies for the position in which it ended the 2022 Brazilian Championship – in 9th place.

The team from Itu, on the other hand, went through Princesa do Solimões, from Amazonas, and Ceará in the previous stages of the Copa do Brasil.

The decisive return match, which will define the club classified for the round of 16, will be held on the 25th (Tuesday), at 21:30, at the Novelli Junior Stadium.

The São Paulo team’s next match of the season will be against Botafogo, in Rio de Janeiro, for the debut of the Brasileirão, in a game scheduled for Saturday (15), at 6:30 pm, at Estádio Nilton Santos.
