First Radeon RX 7900 XTX card below the recommended benchmark • HWzone

ASRock is the first AMD partner to offer any significant discount on the current-gen flagship model – hopefully this is just the first bud of a larger lateral move

For several years, AMD has been offering superior performance-to-price ratios compared to its main competitor NVIDIA, at most levels of the home video card market – this despite the fact that the GeForce models tend to be more popular anyway, (among other things) thanks to the chip developer’s significant investment in collaborations with game creators to implement its exclusive technologies.

This is also true within the latest generation, where the Radeon RX 7900 XTX launched with a recommended price of $1,000 provides better performance than the GeForce RTX 4080 which is priced at $1,200 as a starting point – and it is possible that these differences are about to become more pronounced When insufficient demand (seemingly) causes a first model of the red camp to make the move and go below the stated level.

A 4 percent discount won’t necessarily revolutionize demand, but could be the first step in a series of tiered discounts, as in the case of the Radeon RX 6000 generation cards, some of which are now available tens of percent below the original launch price

ASRock’s Phantom Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX card, with a three-fan cooling array and about 4.6 times faster core frequency than AMD’s specified base, is now on sale at Newegg’s online store for $960 before tax for the US audience, down from $1,120 which appear as the price of this model at the beginning of the road. For consumers from Israel the price will be slightly more expensive, 4,345 shekels including tax and home delivery as of this moment (compared to approximately 4,150 shekels which would be a base price of $960 plus our local VAT rate) – but this price is also the lowest cost of all models The RX 7900 XTX at Newegg, and one that is about NIS 500 lower than the lowest price of this type of card in stores in Israel.

On top of that, the price of NIS 4,345 is also almost NIS 1,000 lower than the minimum prices of the various GeForce RTX 4080 cards on the market – which, as mentioned, offer less good performance by several percent compared to the RX 7900 XTX.

The price for the Israeli consumer is not as impressive as the American price, but still the cheapest for such an elaborate card you will find

We have yet to see similar deals below the $1,000 mark on Amazon, but we can hope that ASRock will not be alone for long – and that soon other manufacturers such as XFX, PowerColor or Sapphire that have a significant presence on the international online platform will start offering their own competitive prices.

At what price would you be willing to consider purchasing the flagship Radeon RX 7000 card, if at all?
