Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich shared a lengthy post on his Facebook page ahead of the holiday, discussing the current challenges faced by the country. Smotrich began by referencing the seventh day of Passover, a day that ended with miraculous salvation and thanks, but began with great difficulty. He described the Israelites’ situation, trapped between the sea and the pursuing Egyptians, as a true dead end. Smotrich noted that Pharaoh had recognized Israel’s weakness and sought to exploit it.
However, Smotrich emphasized that God’s response to Moses was to tell the Israelites to move forward with courage, faith, and determination. He referred to Nachshon ben Aminadav as the leader who charged forward with dedication and without fear or hesitation. Smotrich urged everyone to work hard and move forward in settlement and security, Jewish identity, fixing the justice system, the economy, and society. He concluded by sending good wishes to all the people of Israel and expressing gratitude to the Dee family for their example of faith, love, and loyalty to God and their country.
