Corn plummets 3% on B3 and drops to up to R$ 76.00 this Tuesday

Chicago remains slightly negative

Corn futures prices continue to plummet on the Brazilian Stock Exchange (B3) throughout this Tuesday (11). The main quotes fluctuated in the range between R$76.89 and R$79.79 around 12:49 pm (Brasília time).

The May/23 maturity was quoted at R$76.89 with a 2.24% drop, the July/23 was worth R$77.09 with a 3.19% devaluation, the September/23 was traded for R$77, 82 with a drop of 2.15% and November/23 had a value of R$ 79.79 with a loss of 2.22%.

Foreign Market

The Chicago Stock Exchange (CBOT) also remained in the same way as it started Tuesday, with international corn futures prices slightly retreated at around 12:41 pm (Brasília time).

The May/23 contract was quoted at US$ 6.53 with a loss of 0.75 points, the July/23 contract was worth US$ 6.29 with a drop of 0.75 points, the September/23 contract was traded at US$ 5, 69 with a drop of 1.25 points and December/23 had a value of US$ 5.60 with a devaluation of 2.00 points.

According to information from the international website Farm Progress, the favorable spring weather in Heartland this week prevented new gains throughout the corn complex.

“Corn planting progress remains in its early stages, although there has been significant enough progress in the South to put the weekly planting reading ahead of the five-year average,” notes Farm Futures analyst Jacqueline Holland.
