Kuwait ranks 50th in the world on the global happiness index

Kuwait City: Kuwait ranks 50th in the world on global happiness index. Kuwait is fourth among the Arab and Gulf countries. Local media reported a three-place drop from 2021. The United Nations’ World Happiness Index report is compiled by taking into account the quality of life in more than 150 countries.

The index is based on factors such as social support, per capita gross domestic product, freedom to make life decisions, healthy life expectancy, lack of corruption and generosity. A recent government study recommends several steps to improve Kuwait’s ranking. They are below:

1) Improve the quality of health and medical services, achieve comprehensive comprehensive health care, increase accountability and transparency in all health facilities and sectors in an efficient and genuine manner.

2) Enact laws and legislation that guarantee and effectively protect rights and freedoms of all kinds. Achieving the rule of law, strengthening integrity to create a corruption-free society, strengthening cooperation with international partners, signing memorandums of understanding and cooperation protocols. Provide technical and training skills to fight corruption.

3) To create decent and equitable employment opportunities available to all, eradicate unemployment, improve employment opportunities for the youth, ensure good investment in human capital and develop them to achieve comprehensive economic development in the country.

4) By establishing a fund aimed at facilitating the process of donating goods and money to improve the welfare and quality of life, support and meet the needs of needy families within the community, provide them with all the comforts and luxuries of life, and achieve satisfaction and happiness.

5) Create economic and social protection initiatives to ensure a dignified life for all marginalized sections of the society and improve the standard of living for all.

6) To develop human capital with the aim of achieving sustainable development in all areas from education, health and quality of life and to achieve the highest development and growth in various development sectors.

7) The government proposes policies to increase the per capita share of the gross domestic product and improve the standard of living of the citizens.

8) Include happiness and quality of life in all policies, programs and services of government agencies and their work environment and adopt an annual model to measure the level of happiness in all government agencies.
