A major egg producer in Kalmar issues a new warning regarding salmonella.

The Swedish Agency for Agriculture discovered an issue at a producer in Kalmar county during a test taken from the packer. The affected eggs were intercepted before reaching consumers. The current tests show no signs of animal infection, with Monday’s tests coming back negative. Salmonella alarms have been frequent in the early months of this year, resulting in food companies recalling eggs.

The discovery at the producer in Kalmar county was made when the Swedish Agency for Agriculture took a test from the packer. These eggs were stopped and have not reached consumers.

According to the authority, there are currently no signs that the animals would be infected and the latest tests, which were done on Monday, showed negative.

There have been several alarms about salmonella during the first months of the year, and several food giants have on various occasions been forced to recall eggs.
