The two brothers, Maayan and Sahar Asor from Tiberias, were discovered dead on Tuesday in the Arava floods after being missing since the previous day. Meanwhile, the wife of one of the missing men was found alive and well near Nahal Paran earlier. The Asor brothers’ father is Nini Asor, a former footballer for Maccabi Tel Aviv. The municipality of Tiberias expressed their condolences for the loss and announced the cancellation of the Mimouna celebrations as a result of the tragedy. A third missing person, Shai Dahan, was found and taken to hospital in a conscious and stable condition.

On behalf of all the residents of Tiberias, we send our heartfelt condolences to the beloved and dear Asor family and hug them in their difficult time. The Acting Mayor of Tiberias, Boaz Yosef: ‘These are very difficult moments for the entire city – a city that, since the hours of the night, kept its fingers crossed, prayed and hoped for the good news and a Passover miracle, but the worst of all happened. We are here to hug the parents Nini and Kinneret and the brothers Tomer and Guy. The Asur family is part of the family of the city of Tiberias and in these moments we are all by her side. In light of the disaster, the acting mayor announced the cancellation of the traditional tour of the Mimouna celebrations tomorrow evening.”

As mentioned, in the morning, the search resumed for the brothers who entered the Nahal Tsichor area on Highway 40 last night. The third missing person, 21-year-old Shai Dahan, was located in good condition and was taken to Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva while she was fully conscious. Upon entering the emergency room at the hospital, Soroka said that “I’m fine.”
