The man suspected of shooting a teacher in Itaperuna, Northwest Fluminense, was arrested after turning himself in to the police. João Carlos Calil Caldas, 36 years old, the victim’s former partner, had his arrest authorized by the Justice during the investigation of the crime.
The victim was kidnapped and shot, last Sunday (2), when she was on her way to the school where she would apply a test.
According to the police, images recorded the moment when the teacher’s car was closed by another. The victim was forced to get into the car and taken by an armed man to the rural area of Bambuí.
After the crime, the woman was rescued and sent to the hospital to receive medical attention. Her health status was not disclosed.
Two days later, the suspect testified at the 148th DP (Italva), but was released because the time limit for the act had ended.
Wanted for attempted feminicide, João Carlos even had the photo published on a poster of the Disque Denúncia.
