The number of corona virus cases is on the rise in Tamil Nadu, with 401 cases reported today compared to 386 yesterday. One person has also lost their life to the infection today. The state has seen an increase in corona virus cases over the past few weeks, with a total of 2,301 people receiving treatment for the infection. The highest number of cases recorded today were in Chennai with 110 cases, followed by Chengalpattu district (46), Coimbatore (41), Salem (23), and Kanyakumari (22).

The total number of deaths due to corona virus in Tamil Nadu is now 38,052, with one death reported today. However, 198 people have recovered from the infection today. So far, four districts in Tamil Nadu, namely Kallakurichi, Perambalur, Thenkasi, and Tirupattur, are free of infection.

Health and People’s Welfare Minister M. Subramanian has assured that while the number of cases is increasing, there is no need for the general public to panic. He said that only individuals have been affected so far, and not groups, so there is no need to make it mandatory to wear face masks in public places. He emphasized that people with co-morbidities should be cautious and that medical structures are being prepared to control the effects of the corona virus.

The number of samples tested today for corona infection stands at 4,727. In Tamil Nadu, 4 districts namely Kallakurichi, Perambalur, Thenkasi and Tirupattur are free of infection. While one person died in Chengalpattu yesterday, one person died of corona in Kanchipuram district today.

Minister of Health and People’s Welfare, M. Subramanian, said that although the number of corona cases is increasing, there is no need for the general public to fear, and appropriate measures will be taken to control the effects of the corona virus.

Speaking in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly today, Minister M. Subramanian said about this, “Current cases are reported only for individuals, group cases have not been reported so far. Therefore, there is no need to make it mandatory to wear face masks in public places.

Only people with co-morbidities should be a little cautious. There is no need for common people to panic. Medical structures will be kept ready and appropriate measures will be taken to control the effects of the corona virus,” he said.
