To the users of Facebook it is easy for them to take advantage of one of the largest online sales sites in the world. Only with their personal account can they locate the products they need and find in their geographical area to buy quickly from their screen.

According to the portal Ámbito Financiero, the Marketplace Facebook reached 1 billion global users last year; however, both buyers and sellers should be aware of what the platform’s policies currently allow for sale.

According to the social network’s help service, these rules apply to sales on the Marketplace, Buying groups, Page shops y Instagram store.

What products can’t I sell on Facebook?

Items that cannot be traded include anything that is not a physical item, meaning that it is not an actual item, such as jokes, news, or lost and found.

Sales of services such as house cleaning are also not allowed; nor those whose photo and description do not match the ad.

The platform does not accept the sale or sale of animals (this includes publications of animals to be given up for adoption).

Also, medical related items, such as thermometers or first aid kits, are not allowed in the sales windows.

Another ban is ‘before and after’ images associated with a product, such as those showing a person losing weight.

All these indications are expanded in the Commerce Policies of the social network, which also allows you to report publications and provide information on what you should do if your access has been denied for violating any of the rules.

According to the Colombian Chamber of Commerce, the ecommerce registers a growth of 38.4% in 2022 in the country and this trend is expected to continue growing.
