Countries with more people who are satisfied with their health

by time news
  • So far very few nations have achieved the universalization of the nation.
  • In most of the world, people must pay to receive medical care and buy drugs.
  • The new edition of the Statista Consumer Insights global survey focused on finding out the countries with the most people who are satisfied with their health.

Health is a universal right, but despite its importance, not all people are satisfied with this service for different reasons. One of the main ones is because so far very few countries offer this option to their inhabitants. In fact, it is one of the most difficult goals to achieve.

But first it is necessary to remember the basic concept of health. In accordance with WHO is about a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not just the absence of disease or infirmity.

What is universal health?

On the other hand, for decades there has been a struggle to achieve universal health. This term consists of guaranteeing that all people and communities have access to health services without discrimination of any kind and without suffering financial hardship.

The universal health It’s not just about ensuring that everyone is covered, but that everyone has access to care when they need it, where they need it. It requires the participation of all sectors of society to combat poverty, social injustice, educational gaps and poor living conditions, among other factors that influence people’s health.

It also covers the full range of health services, including health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care, which must be of sufficient quality, comprehensive, safe, effective, and affordable for all.

Are people satisfied with their health?

This is a rather complicated question, but thanks to the new edition of the Statista Consumer Insights study, it has an answer. To carry it out, between 1,000 and 10,000 surveys per country were applied to people between 18 and 64 years of age.

As a result of the above, it was obtained that Nigeria and India, within the selected countries, are the ones with the highest percentage (85%) of respondents who claim to feel satisfied or very satisfied with the general state of their health in the last 12 months.

Within the same investigation it is mentioned that in Mexico the percentage drops to three quarters of the interviewees, and in Spain, to 67% of them. In Brazil, the figure is 57%.

The percentages for South Korea and Japan are astonishing: only 34% and 33%, respectively, are satisfied or very satisfied with their health. However, this does not necessarily mean that the inhabitants of these two countries have worse health than those of Nigeria, for example, but that their perception of health may be different.

Therefore, the survey does not offer a look at the level of health of the population, but a look at how people from different countries perceive their general state of health.
