Egypt planned to transfer 40 thousand rockets to Russia

Another leak from the leaked documents of the American Pentagon, the “Washington Post” reported tonight (Tuesday) that “Egypt planned to secretly transfer 40,000 rockets to Russia”.

According to the report, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, one of the United States’ closest allies in the Middle East, ordered the production of about 40,000 rockets last February, in order to secretly send them to Russia.

Part of a document that was leaked as part of the leak of the classified intelligence documents of the United States, which came into the hands of the “Washington Post”, describes the conversations between Al-Sisi and senior officials of the Egyptian army.

There the plans are mentioned to send to Russia the rockets for artillery fire, as well as gunpowder. In addition, al-Sisi instructed the senior officials, according to the report, to keep the production of the rockets and sending them to Russia a secret, in order to avoid “problems with the West”.

A senior Egyptian source denies the report to an Egyptian channel. The “Al-Qahra Al-Akhbariya” channel reported from the same source that “what was published in the Washington Post is nonsense without any basis” and added that “Egypt advocates a balanced policy vis-à-vis all international parties for the promotion of peace, stability and prosperity.”
