The elections for the 222 assembly constituencies in Karnataka will take place on May 10. Nomination filing can be done from tomorrow until April 20. Nominations will be evaluated on April 21, while April 24 is the deadline for withdrawing them. The BJP has released a list of 189 candidates for the Karnataka state assembly elections, with Yeddyurappa’s son Vijayendra contesting from Shikaripura constituency, and Chief Minister Basavaraj Tomy from Shikamwa constituency. Additionally, the list includes 52 new faces, 32 of whom are from Other Backward Classes, 20 are from Scheduled Tribes, and 16 are from Scheduled Tribes. Eshwarappa has said that he will not run in the elections following his resignation from his ministerial post after being accused in a case related to the death of a contractor. In this situation, the BJP released the list of 189 candidates for the Karnataka state assembly elections in the first phase. Former Chief Minister Yeddyurappa’s son Vijayendra is contesting from Shikaripura constituency. Chief Minister Basavaraj Tomy is contesting from Shikamwa constituency.

Also, 52 new faces have been given a chance in the list of candidates announced today. 32 persons belong to Other Backward Classes, 20 persons belong to Scheduled Tribes and 16 persons belong to Scheduled Tribes.
