After dispatched, luggage is taken to a restricted area. There, employees of outsourced companies removed the labels with passenger data and placed them in suitcases with drugs, preventing them from going through the x-ray.

Investigations point out that the women from Goiás would have been victims of a scheme involving employees of the Guarulhos Airport. Seven contractors from third-party companies were arrested.

According to the Federal Police, the Brazilian women were carrying luggage different from the ones seized by the German authorities, in which 40 kilos of cocaine were found.

The lawyer for the two, Luna Lara de Almeida, pointed out that two promptly claimed that they did not recognize the luggage, in an interview with BandNews FM radio on Monday (10).

“They handcuffed hand and foot [das brasileiras] and spoke in German, so they didn’t understand what was going on. They insisted that they speak in English, and said ‘you are being arrested for international drug trafficking, because your suitcase has cocaine’. They immediately recognized that it was not the bag they had checked in.”
