The first ordinary session of the National Assembly for the year 2023 is about to begin under the ninth legislature. To inform the public of the points on the agenda of this session, a press conference was organized and piloted by the Spokesperson of the National Assembly.
The investiture ceremony of the new President of the National Assembly, Louis Gbèhounou Vlavonou, will take place on the same day as the opening of the first ordinary session, i.e. April 13, 2023: this is the key information highlighted during of this press conference. This decision was taken in order to “rationalize the costs and the constraints” according to the statements of the Deputy Director of Information and Communication Services, Spokesman of the National Assembly James-William A. GBAGUIDI. It will also be an opportunity for the Vice-President of the Republic to decorate the President of the National Assembly with the Grand Cross of the National Order of Merit of Benin.
