State deputy and president of Alems (Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul), Gerson Claro (PP), considers that action and the search for good practices are necessary to avoid threats of invasion and aggression by students, teachers and employees of public schools in the State . The speech took place during the launch of the program aimed at strengthening the safety of educational units, during the morning of this Wednesday (12).

“Parents have to assume their responsibilities. They need to take care of their children. Control what they see on social media. I heard teachers calling on parents to search backpacks and inspect their children’s cell phones. Society, families and specialists to find a joint solution”, said the parliamentarian.

Asked about the authorities’ response, the progressive said that the situation needs to be resolved sensibly, based on expert recommendations. “This is not the time to turn this crisis situation into a springboard for opportunism and demagoguery. Society rejects anyone who tries to seek protagonism with simplistic and merely media-oriented solutions”.

In Gerson Claro’s opinion, the responsibility for preventing new tragedies like the one in Blumenau (SC), where 4 children were murdered, has to be shared with the families. “Today we have a psychologically ill society, which is bombarded at all times by an avalanche of information on social networks, many fake news that preach hatred and intolerance”, he concluded.

As reported by Campo Grande Newsthe electronic monitoring of state schools will be expanded and will reach, in total, 298 institutions in Mato Grosso do Sul, being carried out 24 hours a day.

In addition, surveillance in the surroundings will be reinforced by the PM (Military Police) and the intelligence service of the PC (Civil Police) is identifying the perpetrators of the threats, even studying possible framing for the crime of terrorism.

During a press conference, Governor Eduardo Riedel (PSDB) denied that he will suspend classes in the State Education Network on April 20. The toucan pointed out that the intention is to transform the day into a moment of reflection together with students and family members.
