In Paris, high schools still mobilized

In Paris, mobilization in high schools is taking hold. For several days, the mobilization in the establishments has continued: several general assemblies, some filtering blockages, banner workshops… In front of the Racine high school (8e district), the students remain determined but fear that the decision of the Constitutional Council “does not change the social and political crisis”. “We already know the answer”, launches Maxime, in class in terminale. The students next to him nod. A sophomore, said shyly, “I believe in it a little, if they respect human rights, they will make the right decision”.

“Sometimes in custody but never at attention”, mentions a poster, which the students put up. Around 9:30 a.m., there are only a few high school students left, who, sitting on trash cans, carefully guard the doors. ” I can enter ? », asks a teacher. The students push aside the trash cans and make way for him. Forbidden to enter for students, however: “At the same time, the students don’t want to enter either”laughs Léa, in first.

Maxime says that, since the start of the mobilization, the high school has been blocked “ten times”. He, like other students present, have also helped to block these last weeks in the establishments of the district: Lamartine, Balzac, Condorcet… Maxime notes that if at the beginning the teachers supported them, today, he feels them “resigned”.

The students present also have the same speech: “Of course there is a routine that sets in but we must not be discouraged. Blocking is our only means of expression when we do not have the right to vote or to demonstrate. » If the few students present remain determined, we feel that the heart is no longer quite there. “Which does not mean that anger or opposition no longer exists”, says another high school student. In any case, few of them will join the ranks of the Parisian mobilization this afternoon.
