Violence in Arab society reaches into educational institutions: A man stabbed a teacher this morning (Thursday) at a school in the town of Hura in the Negev. The teacher vacated independently for medical treatment. He was later transferred to Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva, his condition is defined as mild.

The incident occurred at Al-Hayat High School in the 13-girl neighborhood. Police said the identity of the man suspected of the stabbing was known and began searching for him. Police were initially told it was a parent suspected of stabbing, but it later emerged that the suspect had no children in the same school, and the background was most likely a family dispute.

Preliminary details indicate that both the teacher who was stabbed and the suspect belong to the Abu Sabit family. The family of the stabbed teacher said that “this is a serious incident”. The Ministry of Education said that they are investigating the details of the case.
