This Thursday morning there was a strong fire in the Nuevo Refugio de Gómez Palacio neighborhood that generated the mobilization of the different rescue and security corporations of the city.
The events occurred around 10:45 a.m. at an address located on Privada Aldama and Azucenas Street in said housing sector.
The first reports indicated that the owner of the house was burning garbage in the backyard when at one point, the fire got out of control and spread to the rooms.
The residents of the sector noticed the accident and immediately made the corresponding report to the authorities through multiple phone calls to the state emergency system 911.
Fire department personnel arrived at the scene aboard a fast attack machine and a tanker truck.
The elements immediately proceeded to fight the flames from different fronts, including from the roofs of the adjoining farms.
The fire consumed a large amount of debris accumulated in the property’s rooms, as well as the property’s owner’s belongings.
Support was also received from the agents of the Citizen Security and Protection Directorate, who cordoned off the area while the Firefighters carried out their work.
The owner of the home identified as Fernando, 53 years old, was reviewed by the Red Cross paramedics, who confirmed that he did not suffer serious injuries.
The neighbors indicated that this person accumulates large amounts of garbage and that it is not the first time that a situation of this type has been recorded.
After a few minutes of intense work, the fire was put out before it spread to the surrounding homes.
Finally, the service was concluded and the corporations present withdrew from the place without any other news.
