Earning lakhs as a businesswoman, started Dhaba with husband’s challenge

by time news

Kuldeep Anthony Fernandez from Ahmedabad is running ‘Aunty’s Dhaba’ since last 21 years. She started this work with the challenge of earning only 2000 rupees, but today she is earning lakhs from it.

Kuldeep Anthony Fernandez is running his food business from last 21 years in CEPT University area of Ahmedabad. Every day thousands of students come here to eat the food cooked by their beloved aunty and the reason for coming here is not only the taste of Kuldeep’s hands, people like his spirit as well.

The enthusiasm with which 67-year-old Kuldeep cooks hot parathas and vegetables is as interesting as the story of the beginning of her business.

You will be surprised to know that this work started with a small challenge. 21 years ago, Kuldeep jokingly asked her husband to come home soon. During that time her husband used to work in marketing.

Her husband also jokingly said that the day you earn Rs 2000, I will come home early. Although Kuldeep used to work as a teacher at that time, but at the end of the month, he only got some fixed money. In such a situation, this thing of her husband pricked her so much that on the same day Kuldeep decided that now she will earn money as well as make her identity.

Kuldeep had to do some such work, in which he could manage the house and also earn money. Then he used his cooking skills and started a small stall. He had no idea at that time that a beginning with the name ‘Aunty Dhaba’ would one day become his identity.

Kuldeep served the taste of desi Punjabi food in Gujarat such that soon many people became his regular customers. She hired a staff to help and used to carry the handcart alone with him. Over time that handcart changed into a small tempo and today she sets up her dhaba in a big tempo.

Every day 200 to 250 people come here. Kuldeep had won that challenge many years back. But today she happily tells that that one sentence of husband inspired me to make my identity.

Today she has become an example not only for her family but also for many women around.

She says that if someone challenges you in life, instead of getting angry about that, think about completing the challenge.

So next time when someone challenges you like this, instead of getting angry with him, say Thank You to him, because maybe his challenge itself will become your inspiration, as happened with Kuldeep.
