Simulator: do you earn more or less than the inhabitants of your town?

by time news

Do you earn more or less than your neighbours? Is your income one of the highest or lowest in your municipality? This is what we invite you to discover thanks to our simulator, produced using figures published by the DGFiP in July, on income collected in 2020 and declared in 2021, while the 2022 income declaration campaign began this Thursday. .

Our simulator is based on data provided by the Directorate General of Public Finance, which divides households into six separate tranches. The first groups together the proportion of households having declared tax income between 0 and 10,000 euros, the second between 10,001 and 20,000 euros, the third between 20,001 and 30,000 euros, the fourth between 30,001 and 50,000 euros, the fifth between 50,001 and 100,000 euros and, finally, the sixth which includes tax households that declared more than 100,000 euros.

Which part of the population of your municipality earns as much as you?

Thus, by entering your reference tax income into our tool, you will be able to find out in which bracket you are and what percentage of the inhabitants of your municipality are in the same as you. You will also be able to see the fiscal physiognomy of your city, and what part of the population is located in each of the brackets. What proportion of households in your municipality earn more than 50,000 euros per year? Or more than 100,000?

For example, if the tax income of your household reference is between 20,001 and 30,000 euros and you live in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, you are part of the 16.9% of inhabitants of your arrondissement in this bracket . According to the statistics, 48% of tax households are therefore in a higher bracket than yours, and 35% in a lower bracket.

The data published by the DGFiP show that 39.9 million tax households declared income in 2021, for a total of 1,238 billion euros. After studying the declarations, 17.9 million of them were subject to income tax. Finally, 3.2 million were reimbursed through tax credits.
