Shabtai: “Preparing for the prayers on the fourth Friday of Ramadan alongside the Crusades and Shabbat of Light is challenging, especially in Jerusalem. Our main challenge today is to finish the prayers and the events safely and handle exceptions as professionally as required.
We must continue to prepare for every scenario and every threat with all the means at our disposal. The main threat is the IDF in its various guises, and that is where most of the operational attention should be directed with a significant emphasis on the readiness of the police officers. The significant successes here in thwarting attacks in recent days are no small matter, and were made possible thanks to close cooperation between the Jerusalem district and the other security agencies, as well as proper operational preparation and the vigilance of the police in the field.
