A terrible fire has occurred at a dairy farm in the southern state of Texas. One person was injured. About 18,000 cows are said to have died. Firefighters and police officials rushed to the spot. A laborer trapped on the farm was rescued after a fierce struggle and admitted to Lubbock Hospital. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
“The farm may have stored too much manure. So this accident might have happened. Once the cause and facts of this tragedy are known, the public will be fully informed. That way we can avoid such tragedies in the future.” Officials say.
It is believed that the accident may have happened due to the high heat released by the cow dung vacuuming machine, which ignited the methane gas in the farm. “This is the deadliest cattle fire in Texas history, and it will take some time to investigate and clean up the area,” Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller said in a statement.
