BIG Arbeitsschutz GmbH: protects wearers and the environment

by time news

In line with spring and the increasing hours of sunshine, BIG Arbeitsschutz is expanding the 4PROTECT product range in the field of protective work clothing. All newly produced UV warning protection shirts are now made of environmentally friendly polyester.

4PROTECT clothing reliably protects the wearer from dangerous solar radiation when working outdoors, for example in road construction, on runways or on construction sites. The UV protection shirts are available as workwear in fluorescent yellow and fluorescent orange and in the classic colors navy, gray and black. What is new now is that the shirts MIAMI, ORLANDO and JACKSONVILLE are also made with recycled polyester. However, this only applies to newly produced UV warning protection shirts. Goods that are already on sale may still contain conventional polyester during the changeover if they are of the same quality. All shirts, the classic as well as the high-visibility versions, are certified against ultra-violet solar radiation with a UPF protection of 50+.

Brand manager Heiko Müller says: “With our 4PROTECT UV protection shirts, we are taking account of the fact that suspected skin cancer is an occupational disease that must be taken very seriously and is recognized by the professional association, and is increasing among professionals who often work outdoors . At the same time, in addition to this protective function, the new workwear also impresses in everyday life with its functionality and optimum wearing comfort.”

Soft tissue thanks to special fibers

The lyocell natural fiber TENCEL makes the fabric silky soft, it cools at high temperatures and warms at low temperatures. TENCEL can also absorb around 50 percent more moisture than cotton. This makes the clothing comfortable to wear, as the skin stays dry even when you sweat heavily. Furthermore, the fiber is odour-inhibiting, dermatologically tested and suitable for allergy sufferers. In terms of design, you can choose between a long-sleeved shirt, a polo shirt or a t-shirt.

The lyocell fibers are made from sustainably sourced wood. The material is also OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. This means that all components of the textile products have been tested for harmful substances and the article is therefore harmless to health. According to the manufacturer, the limit values set for the STANDARD 100 often exceed national and international specifications.
