Michelsen, as well as, among others: Daniel Bewley, Tom Brennan and Jan Kvech were entered to start in the semi-finals of the European Team Championships in Pardubice. It was supposed to take place on Saturday (April 15), but the organizers have already informed that they are unable to prepare the track for tomorrow.

“It has been raining since Thursday and will continue to rain until tomorrow. Today we agreed that for absolute safety we will not go on Saturday. Tomorrow at 14:00 all interested parties will meet at the stadium and agree on what to do next. The first option is that we will race on Sunday, the organizers wrote, and this information was confirmed by the chairman of FIM Europe Track Racing, Piotr Szymański.
“Sunday is a reserve date as usual. Tomorrow we will gather and decide what to do next – admitted the Polish activist.
Ukrainians want to go
According to our information, most of the teams, i.e. the British, Czechs and Danes, do not want to race on Sunday, the more so that the organizers do not guarantee that the track, after several days of rain, can be prepared for use. Only Ukrainians strongly opt for a Sunday date.
If they manage to push it through, Polish clubs will suffer. Betard Sparta Wrocław was already aware of such an eventuality earlier. Her match against Fogo Unia Leszno was originally supposed to take place today, but due to the bad condition of the track, it was postponed to Sunday (16:15). The inhabitants of Wrocław themselves proposed this date, being aware that if the DME competition was postponed, they would have to manage without Bewley.
The problem with DME (the second semi-final is to take place on Saturday in Gdańsk) could also affect ebut.pl Stal Gorzów (Szymon Woźniak) and ZOOLeszcz GKM Grudziądz (Frederik Jakobsen), but PGE Ekstraliga postponed the match scheduled for today, especially for this reason, no for Sunday and Tuesday (April 18).
Therefore, only Tauron Włókniarz Częstochowa was left with a problem in the top division, which would have to cope without Mikkel Michelsen in the Sunday match with Platinum Motor Lublin. Coach Lech Kędziora will not even be able to replace a player for a Dane, because according to the DMP regulations, FIM Europe rank team competitions cannot be reserved.
Włókniarz has a plan to get Michelsen
At Jasna Góra, however, they already have a plan B. Michelsen’s team had already divided his equipment into two buses. One went to Pardubice, and the other is to report to Częstochowa. If on Saturday it is decided that the DME competition will take place on Sunday (unofficially it is said that it is possible that it will be at 11:00 am), a passenger car will be sent for the Dane, which will quickly move from Pardubice to Częstochowa. It will cover a distance of over 400 km. The start of the match against Motor is scheduled for 19:15.
In 1.LŻ, the problem with the DME in Pardubice may be faced by the activists of ROW Rybnik and H.Skrzydlewska Orła Łódź. However, if the competition goes on Sunday, the inhabitants of Rybnik in Ostrów Wlkp. will have to manage without Jan Kvech, and the inhabitants of Łódź on their own track with Zdunek Wybrzeże Gdańsk, without Tom Brennan.
The first league players could reserve the absence of these players, because the regulations of the 1st and 2nd leagues are no different than in PGE Ekstraliga, but they did not do so. Only Abramczyk Polonia Bydgoszcz reserved the performance of Andreas Lyager and if he stayed in Pardubice, it could substitute for him. However, the match of Bydgoszcz in Landshut II will not take place anyway. He was rescheduled.
There are many indications that DME may be similar, so the league’s problems will solve themselves. Most teams and organizers opt for a date in the middle of next week.
