Jan Ki Baat Opinion Poll: Congress Takes the Lead in Karnataka, Followed by BJP – Where is JDS in the Race?

by time news

The organization Jan Ki Baat has released the results of a poll conducted in anticipation of the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka. While the Lok Sabha elections are set for next year, these assembly elections will be held in 9 states this year, with 3 states having already completed their voting, including Tripura. However, Karnataka is set to hold its elections next month, and all political parties have kicked off their election work in preparation.

There is intense competition expected between the BJP, Congress and JDS parties, and especially between the BJP and Congress where the competition is expected to be tough. Currently, there is a BJP government led by Basavaraj Pomi attempting to retain control of Karnataka, and everything from candidate selection to campaigning is being done to secure a win.

In South India, Tamil Nadu is the only state where the BJP is in power, and the party is pushing hard to maintain that position. However, Basavaraj Pomi has also faced some dissatisfaction from voters, with Congress looking to capitalize on that in order to turn the tables. The JDS party is also focusing on specific constituencies.

Regarding the polls, the Jan Ki Baat survey shows that the Congress party should take 94 seats in Karnataka’s 224-seat election, with the BJP close behind at 93 seats. The JDS, a regional party, is predicted to win only 25-29 seats, with other parties or independents likely to take the remainder.

In terms of region-specific predictions, the Kittur Karnataka region has 50 seats up for grabs, with the BJP viewed as likely to take 31 seats, Congress 19 seats and the JDS party having no chance there. In Bangalore, where there are 32 seats, the competition is fierce, and it is said that the BJP will win 15 seats, with Congress taking 14 seats and the JDS expected to win 3 seats.

Moreover, in Central Karnataka which has 26 seats, the BJP is viewed as likely to win 13 seats, Congress 12 seats and the JDS one seat. Out of 57 seats in Old Mysore, BJP is expected to win 12 seats and Congress 23 seats. It is said that the JDS will win 22 seats there. Although BJP won 104 seats in the last assembly elections in 2018, Congress won 80 seats and JDS 37 seats. While there has been a slight change in the seat allocation this time around, the poll suggests that a hung assembly is likely to result. The JDS party is anticipated to be the kingmaker yet again.
