In the first match for the Brazilian Championship, São Paulo suffered a setback against Botafogo by 2-1 this Saturday, in a match played at Nilton Santos.

The first goal of the home team was scored at the beginning of the game, in the third minute. Tricolor went in search of a reaction and tied in the first stage, at 14, when Luciano reached the ball on the bottom line and passed it to Calleri, who was free to push into the net.

Following the match, Rogério Ceni’s team tried to keep the ball more to seek the turnaround.

Throughout the second half, São Paulo even created opportunities to come back. However, the opponents scored in the 42nd minute, defining the final score.

After this Saturday’s duel, Tricolor will have two matches at Morumbi. The next challenge will be on Tuesday (18), at 9:30 pm, against Puerto Cabello (VEN) for CONMEBOL Sudamericana. Next, the confrontation will be with América-MG, on Saturday (22), at 18:30, in the second round of the Brasileirão.
