DIG/ Owned by the Gabonese businessman Hervé-Patrick Opiangha, the SGTP company is well and truly retain its license to operate the Bakamba granitoid quarryfollowing the dispute between it and the Chinese giant Sinohydro.

According to our daily colleague « L’Union », the measure was approved at the end of the meeting held in Moanda recently between the local administrative authorities, representatives of the Chinese company Synohydro and the provincial directorate of mines.

Located in the department of Lékoko, of which Bakoumba is the capital, the said quarry was recently the subject of a first clarification meeting, around the Minister of Mines, Elvis Ossindji, between the companies mentioned above.

As a reminder, the Bakamba granitoid quarry was awarded, on December 30, 2021, to SGTP mines by decree n°000165/MPGM/SG/DGMG/DLMEM.

But while the Gabonese company was awaiting the favorable technical opinion of the general direction of the Environment and the Protection of nature for its exploitation, she was surprised to see the presence of Synohydro on the site.

After investigation, the DGMG discovered an arrangement, without the knowledge of SGTP mines and the Minister of Mines, between its provincial director, the governorate of Haut-Ogooué and the Chinese operator.
