At the 17th edition of the event, in Sarzana (La Spezia) from 4 to 6 September, the immunologist Alberto Mantovani spoke at the first appointment of the festival with Immunity, from cancer to Covid-19: dreams and challenges. At the meeting, the scientist talked about a dream: to understand the complexity of the immune system and put it at the service of human health. That is the dream of using the weapons of immunity against cancer and also against a new enemy, Covid-19, which plays against the immune system with means that are not yet known. A challenge that – says Mantovani – must be faced with great humility.
