Guatemala closed Sunday with a 84,4 percent of its municipalities in yellow color (medium alert) by incidence of Covid-19, confirmed sources from the Ministry of Health of the Central American country.
The health entity recorded 287 locations in yellow and none in red (maximum alert), while another 53 are in orange (high alert), with the forecast that it will remain so for the next 14 days. However, there are no municipalities in green, the color of the so-called new normality.
The authorities called to maintain precautionary measures such as constant hand washing and physical distancing in closed places. They also recalled the importance of the vaccinationvalid for people over 18 years of age and those who have not completed their scheme.
Since the entry in March 2020 into Guatemalan territory of the new coronavirus, or SARS-CoV-2, which causes the Covid-19 disease, the country accumulates 1 million 246 thousand 626 cases registered.
Likewise, the death of 20 thousand 189 peopleone of the highest figures in Central America.
