Athletics: 25 gold medals for Burkina, champion of the Meeting of Hope
Ouagadougou, April 17, 2023 (AIB)- The U18 and U20 Athlete Stallions won 25 gold medals from the champion of the Meeting of Hope, disputed from April 14 to 15, 2023 in Tamale in Ghana, indicated the ministry in charge of sports.
“The competition brought together athletes under 18 and under 20 of both sexes from the five countries of zone 2 which are: Burkina Faso, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo and Ghana, host country “, noted the direction of Communication and press relations of the ministry in charge of sports on its Facebook page.
At the end of the two days of competition, the Stallions won a total of 59 medals, including 25 gold, 22 silver and 12 bronze. “The Burkinabè athletes thus won this first edition of the Meeting of Hope”.
At the end of this feat, the Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment, Boubakar Savadogo sent his hearty congratulations to the athletes, the coaches and the Burkinabè Federation of Athletics for these results which testify to the resilience from the country.
Boubakar Savadogo also invited the actors to continue in this momentum to keep the torch of Burkina Faso high.
