Rhodes, known around the world as a tourist destination of high standards, which uniquely combines history, culture, enchanting nature and hospitality, attracts the interest not only of thousands of visitors but also of journalists from all over the world who, with their articles, promote the island to the countries their.
The same thing happened with the Greek-German journalist Mattheos Koulouras, journalist of the German online magazine Q.iez- in Berlin, who declares that he was completely impressed by the island, during his short visit to Rhodes from April 6-11, 2023.
The said online lifestyle magazine Q.iez, in which Mr. Koulouras has been working for the last 12 years, counts 150,000 visits per month, 12,100 followers on Instagram with an average age of visitors 25-45 years old, while the tribute to Rhodes is expected to be published on early May 2023.
Captivated by the majesty of the Medieval City, the Grand Master’s Palace and the Archaeological Museum, Mr. Koulouras captured with his camera the beauty of the landscapes he visited, recording with images the history, culture and life of the island .
Speaking with the Deputy Mayor of Tourism Athanasios Vyrini in the presence of the Director of the Tourism Directorate of the Municipality of Rhodes Beatrikis Servos, he underlined the important cultural capital that Rhodes has to show linked to its historical route and its traditions, the Medieval City, the museums, the monuments , but also the traditional settlements. He also spoke about the beautiful nature of the island and its clear seas.
Beyond the Medieval City, he visited the Kallithea Springs where he admired their architecture, the Seven Springs with their rich natural environment, the beach of Tsambika, he was impressed by the Acropolis and the settlement of Lindos, Lardo and the unique Filerimos.
At the same time, Mr. Koulouras, with his statements, considers that Rhodes is an ideal place for holidays and for the low season, either at the beginning of the tourist season or at the end, and he will refer to this in detail, urging German travelers to come to the island then.
“More and more bloggers have the strong desire to experience the beauties of our island, but also to experience our habits, customs and traditions, especially during the Easter days. The direct dissemination of the image and the text and the description of even the sounds and “smells” of our place, make our destination more attractive and lead more visitors to research and “experience” Rhodes. Assisting in this dissemination, the Municipality of Rhodes, through the Directorate of Tourism, welcomes and hosts these correspondents and with a smile is willing to guide them in a (re)discovery of Rhodes. In recent years, the Germans have been consistently in the first two markets of our island’s visitors and have a strong interest in preferring to enjoy their holidays here” underlined the Deputy Mayor of Tourism Athanasios Vyrinis.
Indeed, German visitors have been visiting Rhodes continuously for a number of years, occupying the second place in the list of visitors to the island during the tourist season, as was the case in 2022, where according to the official data of the “Diagoras” airport of Rhodes, 528,068 Germans tourists came to the island.
It is worth noting that the Directorate of Tourism provided Mr. Koulouras with extensive printed and electronic informational material about the island.
