Attempts to stop the atmospheric pollution internationally they continue to take giant steps. Among the new measures proposed for the future, the renewable fuels they have become the most solid alternative to reduce CO2 emissions emitted by vehicles. In fact, even the European Union has raised its possible inclusion in the exceptions on the prohibition of combustion engines from 2035.
Faced with this paradigm, there are already many companies that have made a strong commitment to these fuels. In this sense, the multinational Repsol It is already preparing the first plant in the country that will manufacture 250,000 tons of advanced biofuels from waste, located in Cartagena.
This is not the only measure proposed by the petrochemical company, which has again gone ahead of its competitors with the aim of supporting the circular economy. This new initiative, which has just been launched in the Community of Madrid, will allow customers of Madrid service stations to save and, in addition, collaborate with the production of renewable fuels.
Save on gasoline thanks to used cooking oil
The energy company has just launched a new discount of up to 30 cents in gasoline for each liter of used cooking oil delivered by users at the stipulated gas stations. Repsol has promoted this project in 134 collection points, implemented in the Community of Madrid, which will be expanded to 150 in the coming weeks.
The collection of used oil will serve, in addition to to produce renewable fuels with zero CO2 emissions, to avoid pollution: «One liter of this liquid can contaminate 1,000 liters of water. Recycling this product is also essential to prevent damage to the pipes, since, in most cases, it is thrown into the sink”, recalled Valero Marín, general manager of Repsol’s Client area.

This Repsol discount is intended for users of your loyalty application, Waylet, which will be able to benefit from this reduction in the more than 3,300 service stations of the company in Spain. To do this, they will have to submit a minimum quantity of one liter of used cooking oil and bottled.
In this way, each liter of cooking oil delivered to the gas stations stipulated by the company will become 30 cent savings in the account of the client that has the application. This money can be used both in the next refueling and in the purchase of other products available at service stations in our country.
