Chennai: Bank check transactions were halted yesterday due to a nationwide strike by public sector bank employees. Today marks the second day of bank workers’ protests across the country.
Bank employees across the country have been protesting against the privatization of public sector banks. The central government has decided to privatize two public sector banks in the first phase.
The bill is to be tabled in Parliament in the current session.
