“Tamil Nadu Sets New Record in Electricity Consumption amidst Rising Temperatures: Minister Senthil Balaji Reveals 41.30 Crore Units Consumed without Power Outage”

by time news

Tamil Nadu has broken a new record in electricity consumption, according to Minister Senthil Balaji. The summer heat has hit its highest point with temperatures regularly reaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and the figures are expected to rise. Temperatures already reached 95 degrees Fahrenheit in various districts, including Chennai.
Yesterday, 10 districts in Tamil Nadu experienced temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to the high temperatures, people are using more electricity, especially fans and air conditioning units. As a result, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Minister Senthil Balaji expressed his concerns about the high consumption of electricity.
On April 18, Tamil Nadu saw a new record with a maximum power consumption of 41.30 crore units, equivalent to 18,882 MW, which is an improvement on previous levels. Despite the increasing electricity consumption, there have been no power outages.
To control the increasing electricity consumption, officials are urging people to use electricity sparingly, especially during the summer months when the use of air conditioning, air coolers, and fans is more frequent. If usage continues to increase uncontrollably, there will likely be more power cuts, which could lead to more hardship for residents.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu has set a new record in electricity consumption yesterday. In this regard, Minister Senthil Balaji has released an important information.

Summer heat has reached its peak in Tamil Nadu. Almost daily the sun reaches 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures are expected to rise further in Tamil Nadu in the coming days. Temperatures reached 95 degrees Fahrenheit in various districts of Tamil Nadu. Chennai also experienced heat up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

Temperatures crossed 100 degrees Fahrenheit in 10 districts of Tamil Nadu yesterday.

People are suffering due to severe heat. Due to this, electricity demand has started to increase as electricity demand always increases during hot season.

Due to hot season, many people use AC more. Likewise, the habit of using fans throughout the day has also increased.

Mainly many people buy new AC. Also, leaving the AC running all day has increased. Due to this, the demand for electricity is increasing day by day.

Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Minister Senthil Balaji has raised an important question in this regard. in it,

For the first time in the history of Tamil Nadu, yesterday 18/04/2023 Tamil Nadu saw maximum power consumption of 41.30 crore units. This requirement was met without any power outage.

The previous peak consumption as on 13/04/2023 was 40 crore units.

In MW terms, yesterday 18/04/2023 power consumption requirement of the state was 18,882 MW. This requirement was met without any power outage.

The previous peak demand was 18,667 MW as on 13/04/2023, he said.

Electricity demand in Tamilnadu is increasing day by day. But despite this increase in demand, there was no power cut. The Tamil Nadu government is meeting this demand without power cuts.

Earlier, the power board officials had advised to use electricity sparingly during summer. The use of AC, Air Cooler and Fan has increased significantly in Tamil Nadu.

Due to this the electricity consumption is increasing. If this continues, the demand will increase even more in May. To control this, use as little electricity as possible now.

If the electricity usage increases without control like this, power cuts will increase in summer and people will face severe hardship. So use enough less electricity now. Govt sources advise that you should save electricity as much as possible. Avoid running the AC all day during the day.
