Yesterday, 10 districts in Tamil Nadu experienced temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. On April 18, Tamil Nadu saw a new record with a maximum power consumption of 41.30 crore units, equivalent to 18,882 MW, which is an improvement on previous levels. Despite the increasing electricity consumption, there have been no power outages.
To control the increasing electricity consumption, officials are urging people to use electricity sparingly, especially during the summer months when the use of air conditioning, air coolers, and fans is more frequent.
