With his apparently broken engagement to the Australian Gavin, Gordon’s relationship traumas pile up. The love resume of the 54-year-old Amsterdammer is getting longer and longer.
For the past twenty years, Gordon’s love life has been ‘a mess’, as he described it earlier. In 2008, the entertainer vowed never to start anything with a younger man again, after his relationship with one Sander had failed after two years. In 2010, the romance with the nineteen years younger Raoul followed. It became an on-again, off-again relationship that ended in 2012 after Gordon, according to Raoul, had cheated.
Two years later, yoga teacher Chiel came into his life, with whom he had been together for almost six months. A quarrel gave Gordon a ‘relationship trauma’, in his own words. In 2017, Goor went looking for his great love in the RTL show in front of an audience of millions Gordon is getting married… But to whom?. There was an obvious click with participants and ‘cargo bike father’ Rogier and Manuel, but Gordon did not dare to give his yes to either of them.
‘Stalked by Gordon’
Gordon’s relationship with then-doctor in training Kevin made all the showbiz headlines in 2018. Kevin demanded a restraining order because he said he was being stalked by his ex. The judge rejected that ban after thousands of WhatsApp messages showed that there had been an “affective and sexual relationship” between the two. Gordon responded afterwards that he felt ‘anything but a winner’. Love won over lies. My private life on the street and lost my love and friend. When asked why I will never get an answer. Now a very thick line under it and continue to believe in love.”
That same year, Gordon was spotted with South African model Ryk at the Masters of LXRY luxury trade show. Ryk, who met Gordon in Cape Town, did not yet dare to speak of a permanent relationship, but of ‘a clear click and commitment’.
In 2021, Gordon ran into Jeffrey thirty years his junior. Gordon laughed when Patty Brard confronted him about the big age difference. “I’m in love, he’s in love. What should I do? Because it doesn’t fit the picture, should I let it pass?” he responded to her. It passed, already three months later. When Gordon shared a kissing video of him and Jeffrey later that year, it seemed ‘on’ again. The video was removed shortly afterwards. Thanks to all the great media. It is impossible to love anyone at all, because you will be destroyed beforehand! Have you got food for your poor show columns and miserable gossip magazines again!’ grumbled Gordon.
And now the engagement to Australian Gavin, 24 years his junior, doesn’t seem to last long. Gordon had given up hope of finding a life partner until he bumped into Gavin Rozario at a casino in Melbourne earlier this year. “Then the cards were shuffled differently,” said Goor on Frank Dane’s radio show. Gavin made “forget all the pain.” That pain is back now that both Gordon and Gavin have deleted every love snap from social media.
Gordon left for Dubai two years ago to build a life there. He devises business formulas and furnishes houses. For his television jobs – Gordon has a contract with Talpa – he travels back and forth to the Netherlands. He owns a penthouse in Amsterdam.
