  • More than 12,000 gallons of fuel allowed the mobilization of heavy machinery to free the roads interrupted by the natural phenomena that occurred in the region.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through Provías Decentralized, has delivered, so far this year, a total of 12,757 gallons of fuel, valued at S/ 255,559.0 in support of local governments in the Ancash region, for the attention of 24 road emergencies in the neighborhood roads.

The fuel allowed the use of heavy machinery to free said roads affected by the heavy rains and recover traffic for the benefit of the population.

A total of 20 districts from 12 provinces in the region received fuel: Yautan (1109 gallons), Cochabamba (1068), Pomabamba (975), Ponto (570), Buenavista Alta (527), Santo Toribio (439), and Santiago de Chilcas (429).

Similarly, the districts of Mangas (373), Cochapeti (267), Huayan (251), Llipa (226), Huasta (189), Ranrahirca (179), Yanama (139), Corongo (114), Malvas (75). ) and Carhuapampa (50).

The districts that received the largest amount of fuel were Conchucos, in the province of Pallasca, with 2,714 gallons, valued at S/ 62,437; Llumpa, in the province of Mariscal Luzuriaga, with 1,856 gallons, valued at S/ 36,192; and the district of Canis, in the province of Bolognesi, with 1,200 gallons, valued at S/ 23,055.

On the other hand, two fuel requirements are in process that are close to being met.

“We continue to support local governments with the delivery of fuel so that they can use the machinery in order to recover the passability of the affected neighborhood roads in their districts, and the population can move safely,” said Alexis Carranza, executive director of Provías Decentralizado. .

The executing body of the MTC continues to provide regional and local governments with technical assistance and virtual training so that they know the procedures for dealing with road emergencies.
