BOLZANO. The funeral of Martina Barricelli, who died on March 13 of a sudden illness at the age of 28 together with the child she was carrying in her womb, will take place today (April 30) in Merano.
His brother Matteo asked for the custody of his three little nephews, as he tells in an interview with the Dolomiten newspaper. Matteo Barricelli in the interview also talks about the violence that his sister suffered in the past by her partner. “I have no doubt that death has natural causes, but I understand that the investigators want to dispel any doubts,” he tells the newspaper.
“Martina – he adds regretfully – was already dead when she was alive due to domestic, psychological and economic violence”. “The little ones suddenly lost their mothers and their fathers are certainly not an example, they need warmth and closeness”, explains the decision to have asked for foster care. “Martina lived in a toxic relationship from which you can only get out if you really want to. Martina lacked the strength to say enough”, says the elementary school teacher. “To my students I try to convey the importance of respect for themselves and others”.
The brother of the young skater says that her parents are destroyed but “it is the three little ones who with their smiles and their pranks give us strength”.
