Debut training for Krastaj, goalkeeping coach Shura Obarov

The new coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Mladen Krestajic, tonight (Thursday) delivered his first training session in Kiryat Shalom. After being officially unveiled yesterday, the Serbian coach met his players for the first time at the training ground along with the coaching staff that joined him ahead of the cup game against Hapoel Marmorek (Sunday, 20:00) in the eighth round of the State Cup.

Meanwhile, the Yellows announced tonight that goalkeeping coach Dennis Gantnar is leaving immediately after asking to return to the Netherlands for personal reasons. Following Gantnar’s immediate departure, Shura Obarov will fill the role of goalkeeping coach he is well acquainted with.

Gantnar, who joined Maccabi in January 2021, told the official website: “I would like to thank everyone at Maccabi Tel Aviv, the management, the club staff, the players and the fans who gave me a sense of home over the past year. Professional manager Barak Yitzhaki added: “Dennis joined Maccabi last season and adapted to work immediately.
