Egypt, in fifth place on the list, is one of the countries with the highest polluting rates, surpassing all others cited so far. A developed country, like Austria, has a carbon emission index between 1600 and 1700, while in Egypt this value reaches almost 9,000. The train is the most used transport option in the country, and it is difficult to find crosswalks in the streets. In Cairo, and in other regions, citizens have the habit of crossing all the time, getting in front of cars, and many Brazilians who travel to the destination state that there seems to be “no traffic rules” in the place.
